MIVA Wedding Film Festival

MIVA 2009 Spring Film Festival is scheduled for May 6, 2009 at The Main Art Theatre at 118 North Main Street in downtown Royal Oak, MI.

The Film Festival will be one of the most exciting events of the year. This Film Festival welcomes wedding related videos and films which will be judged by active MIVA members as well as Brides and special guests. It is our chance to show everyone what wedding video is all about. Only 25 entries will be accepted and each entry must be 3 minutes or less. Studios entering will receive the contact information for future brides from the Festival. Prizes will be given to first place winners and an official certificate for the runner-ups.

Cost per entry for MIVA Members: $25, Non-Members $100
Limited seating available. Future Brides and Guests are free.

How to enter:
Any videographer who shoots wedding films may enter. Remember, the majority of the viewers will be future brides. The video can be any aspect of a wedding day, e.g. Preparation Footage, Ceremony Footage, Reception Footage, Same Day Edits, etc.

2. Pay your entry fee via Paypal and the corresponding link from the registration page.
3. Join us at 7:00 PM on May 6, 2009 to vote for your entry or other entries, your choice.
 
Rules of entry:
The film must be burned onto a playable DVD (No VHS tapes or Blu-Ray discs accepted)
The DVD menu must be blank with a single play button.
The video must not be longer than 4 minutes. It will be stopped after 4 minutes.
There must be no markings on the outer DVD that signifies the owner.
The DVD menu must not show any logos or information about your company.
The video/film must be related to some aspect of a wedding day.
You must bring the DVD to the theater at least 10 minutes before event begins.
Late entries will be accepted on a first come first serve basis – pending availability.
We recommend you enter ASAP! 

Judging: 2 Awards will be presented

People’s Choice Award
All guests and attendees will pick their favorite video by a number ranking system. The video that receives the most points will win this award. Awards will go to 1st and 2nd place.
 
Professional Filmmaker’s Award
MIVA Members will have the opportunity to choose the video they feel is the best for technical aspects. Awards will go to 1st and 2nd place.
