Finding Work in the Off Season

Attend This Event
Many of us work during the week either editing our weekend projects or possibly another job. Well if you’re looking to dust off your gear during the week and make much more money (per hour) than you do on weddings and events, then this is the discussion you’ve been waiting to hear.

Our presenter this month will be Mark Salloum of VideoMagic Productions, based out of Canton, Michigan. Mark is going to spend the evening talking extensively about his work in the “non-event” world of video, ranging from corporate and industrial, to promotional and sports videos. You will learn everything from finding prospects to preparing proposals, script writing, filming, editing and delivering the final product.

Mark graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 1991 with 2 degrees; one in Film Production and the second in Marketing. He began filming weddings for the original owner of VMP until he bought the company in 1997. At that time, he not only made a big push for creative change in the wedding movie making industry, but began looking for alternative income methods during the week. Mark was the president of MIVA from 1999-2001 and has been actively involved as a board member once again for the past 3 years.

Don’t forget to RSVP to the meeting to SAVE $5. Members are $10 at the door or $5 in advance if you rsvp online before the day of the event and non-members are $20. If you are a first time visitor, please register with the coupon code: firsttimeguest and you will get in for free.

Our meetings are held at Bastone Brewery in downtown Royal Oak. The address is 419 S. Main Street, Royal Oak, Michigan. We meet the first Wednesday of each month. Bring change for the parking meters or park in one of the nearby structures!
